DATA ENGINEER/ANALYST

We are looking for an experienced data engineer/analyst to support end-to-end data analytics projects for the BID Digital Marketing Analytics Team.
This engineer/analyst knows very well the entire data analytics life cycle from the business and data understanding to the deployment, communication, and documentation of the reports, but it is the deep analysis and the curation of the full story what finds exciting and allows you to turn a complex analysis into a digestible and actionable story.
You enjoy diving into the data, questioning results, addressing issues, enhancing, curating and being creative with data in your day by day, but you also are strategic minded and offer suggestions and well-thought plans to enhance reporting and self-serve capabilities for the analytics team on the long term.
Astute at simplifying the sophisticated is a vital skill in this role and you should have outstanding communication skills and be able to effectively communicate sophisticated processes and issues to other data engineers, analysts, and business partners.
You will be spending the most of your time discovering ways to integrate new data sources and striving to assist the team in efficient access to cleansed and consistent data.
You will be dealing with all kinds of data sources including commercial, operational, financial, and digital marketing data from a variety of systems and tools, including but not limited to Adobe Analytics, AWS Redshift, AWS Athena, MS SQL Server, IBM Cognos, Google BigQuery, PBI Service, MS Azure, Databricks, Etc., and your data sets will be diverse, (structured, semi-structured, unstructured), and at times complex, but your unique viewpoints, experience, and teammates will keep you grounded and help you navigate.
You will be responsible of the QA check of the data/reports ensuring alignment comparisons and data audits when necessary.

Self-assessment, a continual growth mindset, striving for efficient, quality work and willingness to continually improve your knowledge of new technologies (data tools and programing languages) are required, as the analytics field constantly changes.

Y our duties include but are not limited to.
Leverage data integrations using AWS Athena, Redshift, Cognos, SharePoint and Power BI Services among other technologies Propose development optimizations and implement to deliver solutions and enhanced reporting capabilities Provide timely and consistent updates and recommendations on dataflow and data pipeline operational issues and enhancements to team and partners Become a domain expert of data sources used by the Analytics team (Sales Force, Adobe Analytics, Redshift, internal databases, etc.) along with reports created Consult data source owners to understand and document data collection and reporting processes Growing understanding of business context/impact of data used Champion data quality and integrity through proactive sleuthing and oversight Establish alerts for data connection issues both technical and beyond expected thresholds (anomalies) Technical guidance and questioning of requests to prioritize and optimize the most useful data visualizations Collaborate and cultivate relationships with business partners to continue strengthening our team’s profile Research, documentation, and communication of standard methodologies, updates, developments, etc.

Familiar with digital marketing data analytics and standard business analytics processes in general Experience taking requirements for new projects and understanding the needs of the business to generate insights and solve problems Experience in the design and implementation of the different data processes like profiling, exploration, collection, processing, cleaning, and preparation of data, ETL, ELT, ETLT data processes and data pipelines with Python, SQL, Non-SQ, MS Power BI Services and Power Query Experience in semantic data models and schemas like flat, star and snowflake schemas Experience in creating business intelligence reports/dashboards from scratch.
That is business requirements gathering, understanding of the needs, exploration of the data sources, collection of the data, design, development, and deployment of the back-end data processes and the front-end of the self-serv data analytics and visualization tools Familiar with data engineering, analytics, and visualization best practices Effective documentation of projects/processes and ability to explain them to others Strong graphics and visualization aesthetics to convey messages simply and impactfully Excellent prioritization and problem-solving skills Self-motivated to seek out guidance when requirements are vague Familiar with technical topics like Business Intelligence development, user experience design, and data architecture for self-serv data analytics and automatic reporting Minimum Qualifications.
Bachelor’s degree (or above) in a pure science or engineering 3+ years experience in a data analytics or engineering role with a solid understanding of technical, business, and operational process 3+ years experience with Power BI Destop and Service (or similar business intelligence and data visualization tool) Intermediate DAX, M, Python and SQL Exposure to data engineering and analytics with Python Preferred Qualifications.
Experience as digital marketing analyst with Adobe Analytics (preferred, but similar accepted) Ability to support and train teammates on data integration and visualization creation Statistics and data science familiarity (or interest) Big data experience and the ability to analyze trends associated with Experience gathering business requirements and creating solutions to enable business insights Good interpersonal communication skills (written/verbal) Ease working on a fast-paced team with the ability to leverage resources to fill in knowledge or requirement gaps Experience working in a large corporation within a matrix organizational structure Advanced MS Excel Experience with GitHub Experience with agile scrum This position has not been approved for Relocation Assistance as it is remote.
