PUBLIC SAFETY LIAISON LEAD

lt;p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>Uber is seeking a Public Safety Liaison to join our team in Brazil.
This role is vital for supporting internal stakeholders, the Global Public Safety Response Team, and liaising with law enforcement.</p><p>In this dynamic role, you will actively engage with law enforcement, fostering trust and enhancing safety across Uber’s platforms, while protecting data privacy.</p><p><strong>What the Candidate Will Do</strong></p><ul><li>Act as the regional point of contact for law enforcement engagement on critical safety-related cases impacting Uber’s platforms.</li><li>Promote safety and build trust with internal stakeholders and law enforcement agencies.</li><li>Enhance business growth through cross-functional partnerships with stakeholders from the Legal, Product, Operational, Safety, and other internal teams, on all substantive law enforcement criminal matters.</li><li>Develop and maintain law enforcement contact points in the area of responsibilities.</li><li>Promote data privacy.</li><li>Identify gaps/opportunities to drive safety insights and analysis.</li><li>Liaise with criminal investigators during complex and critical investigations, and Uber stakeholders, as required.</li><li>Inform response to safety, business, and reputational risks following critical incidents.</li><li>Be available for after-hours assistance to team members responding to 24/7 emergencies.</li><li>Partner with cross-functional stakeholders, including regional Legal, Policy, Safety Communications, Safety Product, etc.</li><li>Be prepared for travel within the area of responsibility.</li></ul><p><strong>Basic Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>6+ years of experience in criminal investigations, preferably within policing agencies, legal, prosecutors, or data protection authorities.</li><li>Fluency in written and spoken English and Portuguese.
Spanish is a plus.</li><li>Analytical skills.
proficiency in data analysis and advanced technical skills using various computer systems, internet technology, and software (Google Suite, PC, Mac, online research, georeferencing tools, etc.).
Tableau & Salesforce are a plus.</li><li>Knowledge and experience related to data protection legislation and criminal investigations.
Thorough understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks within the area of responsibility.</li><li>Well-versed in Uber’s business models, products, and privacy policy.</li><li>Comprehensive understanding of Uber's data disclosure policies and processes</li><li>Preferably have conducted criminal investigations in conjunction with public/private partnerships.</li><li>Thorough understanding of how to conduct data analysis and connection to criminal investigations.</li><li>Subject matter expert in regional data disclosure obligations.</li></ul><p>We welcome people from all backgrounds who seek the opportunity to help build a future where everyone and everything can move independently.
