ENGINEERING MANAGER II, ENTERPRISE IDENTITY

lt;p><strong>About the role:</strong></p><p>This role involves leading a group of software engineers to deliver Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions for businesses that operate on the Uber platform.
These solutions are used globally and enable customers from SMB to Fortune 500 businesses across all of our products (Rider, Eats, Freight, Merchants and others).</p><p>You will collaborate with a cross-functional team of Product, Design, Data, and Customer teams to identify opportunities, drive the long-term strategy, design, development and launch.</p><p><strong>About the team:</strong></p><p>The Identity team ensures that users, businesses, devices and applications can seamlessly and securely access Uber and affiliated third parties.
We facilitate the complete lifecycle of identity including creation, access & management.
We are a closely collaborative cross-functional team consisting of backend engineers, front-end engineers, product managers, data scientists and designers working together to manage identity at Uber effectively while enabling unprecedented growth.
Uber’s identity is early in the roadmap and you will have a unique opportunity to shape the identity vision and experience a rapidly growing team.</p><p><strong>What the Candidate Will Do</strong></p><ul><li>Build sophisticated identity solutions and scalable distributed systems and technologies to enable Uber to grow its business globally.</li><li>Empower the team to excel in their roles by providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities.</li><li>Ensures timely delivery with clear project plan and timelines, which requires exercising judgment to resolve trade-offs between short-term and long-term priorities, managing stakeholder expectations, and working with dependent teams to align ‌deliverables.</li><li>Promote the culture of continuous improvement, emphasizing code reviews, design reviews, and knowledge sharing within the team.</li><li>Drive innovation, definition, deliverables planning (roadmap) and design of entirely new Uber products and features to deliver against team and company goals.</li><li>Monitor and measure launched products and feed learnings back into the product development process.</li></ul><p><strong>Basic Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Proven experience as a Software Engineering Manager with a track record of successfully leading teams in developing critical software.</li><li>Deep understanding of full-stack software development with experience leading both backend and front-end engineers.</li><li>Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to encourage and empower a diverse team.</li><li>Ability to work with product management, data scientists and other shareholders to deliver high-quality products on time and within scope.</li><li>Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.</li></ul><p><strong>Bonus points</strong></p><ul><li>Advanced Degree.
