GENERAL COUNSEL

Our client is a major multinational consumer goods company, one of the leaders in its segment, currently in a phase of expansion and growth.
Reporting directly to the Regional Vice President of Legal, Compliance, and Government Relations, and with a dotted line to the CEO, this professional will be responsible for all Legal, Compliance, and Government Relations matters, demands, and strategies for the company in Brazil.
The main responsibilities of this professional will be.
Legal   Generalist legal consultancy (mainly involving Civil, Labor, Corporate, Tax, Regulatory, and Environmental Law), acting as a Business Partner for all internal clients;   Analysis, drafting, and negotiation of the main national and international contracts related to the company's core business;   Direct involvement in all corporate matters of the company (routine, governance, restructurings, etc.);   Leading all M&A and structured operations of the company;   Coordination of all litigation and respective third-party law firms;   Involvement in all regulatory matters and demands of the company, including maintaining direct communication with regulatory and public bodies;   Management and development of a direct team, coordinating work, measuring and implementing indicators, as well as ensuring processes and productivity.
Compliance   Responsible for the management and implementation of the Company's Compliance Program regarding Anti-Corruption, Antitrust, and Regulatory fronts, focusing on consolidating ethical and integrated culture, developing program tools, risk identification, communication, training, definition of applicable policies and procedures, investigation, and monitoring.
Government Relations   Constant mapping of risks and identification of positive agendas that may impact the business;   Monitoring and tracking of legislation;   Direct interaction with Executive and Legislative branches at all levels, but mainly at the State level dealing with demands involving all company factories in Brazil;   Close relationship with Trade Associations and Sector Regulatory Bodies; Construction of relevant public policies for the business;   Technical and strategic involvement in the company's main agendas (such as tax reform; environmental issues, ESG, etc.), aiming to ensure increased competitiveness in its market.
An excellent opportunity for a senior professional, with a rigorous academic background, as well as proven experience leading Legal, Compliance, and Government Relations areas in large companies (preferably in the consumer goods or industrial sector).
Leadership, holistic and strategic business vision, hands-on and conciliatory profile, skills in managing and developing people, customer focus, high analytical and negotiation skills, diplomacy, and ease of interpersonal relationships complete the profile.
Fluent English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
