PLATFORM ENGINEER

Platform Engineer - This role is instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining scalable internal platforms that support the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) for container-based applications in Azure environments. This is not a traditional operations role. Were looking for an engineer with a product mindset, capable of writing production-grade infrastructure code and enabling development teams through automation, tooling, and developer-first platforms. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and support self-service internal platforms used by development teams. Define and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, building reusable and modular components. Manage and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and workloads in production and staging environments. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and GitOps workflows with ArgoCD. Collaborate with developers to streamline deployments and improve developer experience. Implement and enforce security, compliance, and observability best practices within pipelines. Integrate tools such as Istio, container registries, and other cloud-native technologies for multi-environment support. Maintain clear internal documentation and offer platform support to developers. Core Requirements (Non-Negotiable) Azure Services Knowledge Strong familiarity with core Azure cloud services used in platform operations. Kubernetes Expertise: Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes (operations, deployment, debugging). Terraform Expertise: Real-world experience creating and managing modular, reusable Terraform codebases. Platform Engineering Mindset Clear understanding of platform-as-a-product and developer enablement principles. CI/CD & GitOps Experience with GitHub Actions and ArgoCD, and CI/CD for Kubernetes-based applications. Troubleshooting Ability: Strong debugging skills for containerized applications across infrastructure layers. Communication & Clarity: Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to different stakeholders. Platform Enablement Fit : Proven ability to design, support, and scale internal developer platforms. Certifications: Azure certifications (AZ-400, AZ-305) are a strong plus Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with Istio or similar service mesh technologies. Exposure to Backstage. io or other internal developer portals. Familiarity with security scanning, compliance, and policy enforcement in CI/CD pipelines. Experience writing internal tools or CLIs in Python, Go, or JavaScript. Knowledge of cost optimization, multi-cloud strategies, or multi-cluster architectures. Coachable Growth Areas (Optional Flex) If strong in Kubernetes, we are open to mentoring in Istio and service mesh concepts. Candidates with solid Jenkins/GitLab CI/CD knowledge willing to adopt GitHub Actions/ArgoCD. Developers with intermediate scripting experience but willingness to deepen Python or Go.
