Project Engineer - We''re looking for an experienced Project Engineer to support the design, development, and delivery of substation and high-voltage projects. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, contribute to energy transition solutions, and bring excellence to our electromechanical and protection systems. Key Responsibilities:Develop basic and executive electromechanical designs for high-voltage substations (69kV to 500kV)Prepare and analyze layout drawings, grounding mesh, cable routing, and auxiliary systems (AC/DC)Design single-line, three-line, and interconnection diagramsEnsure compliance with international standards (IEC, ANSI, IEEE, ABNT)Perform technical documentation review and approval (FATs, BOMs, technical specs)Interface with clients, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teamsContribute to engineering reports including ROI, CAPEX, and technical feasibilityWhat We’re Looking For:Degree in Electrical Engineering or related fieldMinimum 4+ years of experience in high-voltage substation design (preferred: 230kV to 500kV)Proficiency with AutoCAD (See Electrical, Eplan P8 or similar is a plus)Familiarity with SCADA, protection and control systemsSolid knowledge of substation equipment: CTs, PTs, surge arresters, circuit breakers, transformers, disconnectorsExperience with software like CYMCAP, DiaLUX, PVsyst (nice to have)Strong communication skills and ability to work in multicultural environmentsEnglish proficiency required; Portuguese or Spanish is a plusBonus:Experience with renewable projects (photovoltaic farms, hybrid systems)Exposure to EPC projects and multidisciplinary coordinationUnderstanding of ESG practices in engineeringWhy Join Us:Work with industry leaders in power and energy systemsGet involved in international projects with real impactGrow within a dynamic and mission-driven companyRemote flexibility and a collaborative, innovation-driven cultureWho is Xelvin?Xelvin is a Dutch consultancy company specializing in Engineering and Technical Trades. What do we offer?Contract wise:· 1-2 year contract of 40 hours per week (with potential of long-term employment). · 25 paid holidays a year (+ potential ADV days)· Public holidays, with a maximum of 7 per year, which are paid by Xelvin. · Holiday allowance of 8. 33% (instead of 8,0%) over your total gross annual income. Paid each year in May. · Overtime and shift allowance will be paid by Xelvin accordingly. · Travel allowance of €0,23 per km, for the use of travelling to work and back home. · Competitive salary (based on level of education and experience)Onboarding & benefits:· Your 1st house in the Netherlands will be supported by Xelvin, with the help of our Housing Consultant (we help you find accommodation). In case of having to pay the 1st months rent or potential deposit, Xelvin is willing to pay it for you upfront, after which we’ll set up a loan agreement, for you to pay us back in terms. · A relocation assistance allowance of €1000 - €3000,00 NET will be paid to you, to assist with the cost of relocating to the Netherlands. · You (and your family/partner) will be picked up at the airport or train station by your consultant/ recruiter after your arrival and will be taken to your new house. · Onboarding: we’ll advise you on how to set up a Dutch bank account, apply for health insurance, getting a Dutch BSN number, writing in with a dentist and general practitioner and other useful or necessary cases to arrange. · New Hire Dinner organized for all newly recruited engineers to make them aware of our Dutch tax system and explaining the Dutch payslip. · A few social gatherings with all Xelvin employees and recruited engineers; o New Years drink at the local PSV stadium, where you’ll get a tour of the building and beverages and bites are served.
