Head Of Public Policy, Latin America - Over 90% of our users play games, spending a combined 1. 5 billion hours playing thousands of unique titles on Discord each month. As Discords Head of Public Policy for Brazil and Latin America, you will be responsible for building trust and finding common ground with policymakers, regulators, and other stakeholders in Brasilia and national capitals across Latin America. This role can be resident in Sao Paulo or Brasilia and will report to the Head of Americas Public Policy. What you will doIntroduce Discord to government policymakers and civil society stakeholders in key markets across the region, including educating decision-makers on our founding vision, our products, and our investments in privacy and safety; Develop and execute a multi-year government advocacy strategy that maps the interests of Discord users and the companys business goals to the evolving legal and regulatory landscape in those key markets; Identify emerging trends in the regulation of online communications services and build action plans responsive to these trends in coordination with our Legal, Product, and Communications teams; Advocate for Discords position on key legislative and regulatory initiatives that will impact our users and our business, balancing direct advocacy with effective leverage from coalitions and associations; Provide contextand support for the companys responses to regulator inquiries; Promote employee awareness and invite employee engagement on our public policy strategy and priorities; Engage in public policycoalitions with peer companies and civil society organizations; Coordinate and drive compelling returns from the companys partnerships with non-profits and civil society organizations; Manage the companys government affairs consultants and advisors in Latin America. What you should haveSustained (7+ years) professional success at the highest levels of government and/or in strategic public policy advocacyExperience developing and executing public policy advocacy campaigns in Brazil, with experience in other key markets (Mexico, Argentina, Chile) in the region a plusInsight on the policymaking process in key markets throughout the regionCommitment to Discords mission to be the place where everyone can find belonging before, during and after playing games together onlineWillingness to travel as necessary within the region, with occasional travel to the U.
