Head Of Public Relations - Department: CommunicationsLocation: BrazilDescriptionFIFA27 will be established as the Local FIFA Subsidiary in Brazil, to work together with FIFA HQ in Zurich and globally, to deliver the biggest women’s sporting event in the world, the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 (“FWWC2027”). This role will initially be a temporary freelance position supporting the preparation phase for the FWWC2027, transitioning to a fixed-term contract position once the FIFA27 local subsidiary is established in Brazil. THE POSITIONThe FIFA27 Head of Public Relations will lead public relations, corporate communications, content production, and media relations efforts to support the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 and align with FIFA’s broader objectives. Reporting both to the FIFA27 leadership in Brazil and FIFA Communications leaders in Europe, this role will oversee a central Public Relations Division, coordinate with internal stakeholders, host cities, and media across South America, and implement key strategies to enhance tournament visibility and fan engagement. As a collaborative problem-solver and exceptional communicator, this role will connect content, social media, and video initiatives while leveraging tools to measure success and drive aligned messaging. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPublic Relations (PR): This role will maximize awareness and aims of the tournament in Brazil and South America through PR campaigns, media relationships, client and agency management, interviews, consistency with FIFA’s strategic goals, and PR events. Communications: This role will maintain the tournament''s reputation through consistent communications strategies, aligned with FIFA''s values and principles, and coordinate with FIFA HQ for global consistency. Corporate Communications/Event Positioning: Focus on proactive messaging and storytelling, stakeholder relations, and issue/crisis management to shape the perception of the event and the organisation. Content Production: Develop and oversee content (text, video, photos, graphics) across platforms, ensuring it aligns with the event''s narrative and connects with fans. Digital Products: Ensure digital products are innovative and reliable, fitting the needs of FIFA and stakeholders, and advise on media trends and opportunities. Media Relations: Oversee media relations to promote the event and showcase FIFA''s role as a modern, dynamic, and trustworthy sports organization, implement high-quality media strategies, manage media responses, and publish content on FIFA Media’s Twitter account and on the FIFA Media Hub. These tasks will be frequently aligned with FIFA HQ to ensure coordination and consistency across all global markets.
