About the OpportunityWe are looking for a Finance & Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team in Brazil and act as a key partner to the Senior Finance Manager. This role is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic and high-growth environment, especially one preparing for regulatory supervision by the Central Bank of Brazil. This person will take ownership of day-to-day accounting operations while also contributing to local compliance and global reporting, enabling the leadership team to focus on more strategic initiatives. What Youll Be DoingReport directly to the Sr. Finance Manager in Brazil and serve as her right hand in all local financial operations. Prepare the monthly closing process, including journal entries, reconciliations and variance analysis, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Ensure timely completion of monthly close and reporting activities under tight deadlines, maintaining high accuracy and compliance with internal and external requirements. Lead communication with outsourcing accounting firms, to ensure compliance with local tax and accounting regulations. Support accounting, tax, internal controls, cost management, accounts payable, and both management and regulatory reporting. Prepare financial statements for internal use, external audits, and regulatory bodies. Execute AP and ensure all operating expenses are accurately recorded and paid in accordance with internal policies. Manage the issuance of electronic invoices for all company operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local tax requirements. Support the implementation and maintenance of strong internal controls over financial reporting. Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities in financial operations and reporting. Collaborate with international and multicultural teams across different time zones. What We Look For In YouBachelor''s degree in Accounting. 6+ years of relevant experience in accounting roles, ideally in the financial services, fintech, or crypto sectors. Strong knowledge of IFRS standards and experience with corporate income tax (IRPJ/CSLL). Indirect tax knowledge (VAT) is a plus. Demonstrated experience with intercompany reconciliations and exposure to transfer pricing concepts (a strong plus). Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ownership mentality. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like environment with a hands-on and autonomous work style. Proven ability to deliver high-quality work within deadlines and under pressure, especially during monthly and quarterly close cycles. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (mandatory). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, lookups, and dynamic dashboards); experience with Power Query is a strong plus. Nice to HavesPrevious experience in a regulated entity, especially one overseen by the Brazilian Central Bank. Prior work in the crypto, blockchain, or digital assets space. Big Four background or experience with external audits. Experience with Oracle NetSuite or similar ERPs. Advanced degree or relevant professional certification (e. G. , MBA, CPA). Experience working across time zones and in cross-cultural teams.
