SENIOR HESQ & OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

About the Unit Yara Vietnam is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Operations-HESQ Specialist to support our fertilizer production and distribution operations.
This role is critical in driving Health, Environment, Safety, and Quality (HESQ) initiatives while ensuring smooth warehousing and inventory processes.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HESQ compliance, training delivery, and operational coordination within the agricultural or chemical industry.
Responsibilities Health, Environment, Safety, Security, Quality (HESQ) Safety management for whole company (BO and market team) and 3PL WHS Monitor safety on transport and customer warehouse Develop and monitor HESQ KPIs across departments Track, update, and close HESQ-related cases Deliver Synergy Refresh, Product Stewardship, Together We Learn, and Induction trainings for new hires Organize other internal HESQ-related training sessions for all site employees; coordinate Group 1, 2, 4 trainings.
First Aid and Defensive Driving courses Conduct annual safety, product stewardship, and MSDS training for third-party logistics providers Coordinate regular working environment inspections Publish HESQ newsletters and safety posters Lead toolbox meetings and HESQ committee meetings Organize Safety Events and employee engagement programs (Thank You Coin) Update Security Risk Assessment (SRA) and physical security plans for YVL Support Unit to perform occupational health and safety risk assessments Operational Tasks Conduct monthly stock-take Oversee inventory control and reporting Work with 3PL for organic fertilizer production and raw material purchasing Process payments to logistics vendors Create and verify new vendor codes (IDD check) Manage contracts and annexes Clear accruals and ensure accurate financial reporting Manage 3PL performance with monthly tracking and reporting Conduct supplier audits and ensure compliance with OpEx HESQ procedures Optimize national stock levels and product transfer to regional warehouses Ensure efficient inland transportation to customers and transportation to customer’s barges Profile Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Safety, Logistics, or related field.
1 - 3 years of experience in HESQ preferably logistics operations, in the fertilizer or chemical industry preferably Strong understanding of ISO standards, audits, and safety compliance.
Excellent communication and training facilitation skills.
Proficiency in inventory systems and vendor management tools.
Ability to manage cross-functional responsibilities independently.
Additional Information Experience with Synergi or similar HESQ platforms.
Knowledge of fertilizer production processes and agricultural safety standards.
Familiarity with Vietnamese logistics vendors and regulatory frameworks.
