TEAM LEADER MARINE CARGO UNDERWRITER

Based in São Paulo, your role is a mix of underwriting, broker interaction and lead the team of underwriting, supporting the Marine Cargo in Brazil - two highly fast paced areas that requires a very flexible approach.
You will be contacting brokers directly.
You will be relied upon to support the team to comply with underwriting standards and meet production goals in alignment with our Marine Cargo Strategy.
Main tasks/activities are.
Underwriting.
You will lead the underwriting of individual accounts assigned to your team in the Central region and continuing to execute on our key strategy for development new business.
You will provide team coaching to develop Marine Cargo underwriting skills and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines.
Underwriting for new and existing clients.
Analysis and assess Marine Cargo submissions in respect of exposure and coverages, prepare quotations, structure programs, fac reinsurance, and offer proposals for leading or following business.
Broker and client visits for building and fostering relationships.
Develop strategies to adapt position on current accounts and to cross-sell other lines of business in collaboration with sales.
Build and maintain knowledge of Brazil insurance market in respects of wording, insurance law and regulation as well as brokers and competitors.
Compliance and controlling.
Ensuring compliance with all Swiss Re business guidelines, you will demonstrate the Swiss Re values and Corporate Solutions Key Behaviors whilst ensuring that relevant deadlines are met.

Reporting into the Head of Marine Cargo Brazil.

Essentials.
Bachelor's degree required (engineering, administration, economics, etc.).
At least years of underwriting experience, focused small and middle accounts.
Solid understanding of the Midwest broker landscape and strong broker relationships.
General knowledge of and/or exposure to other insurance disciplines, i.
., contract wording, claims.
Positive, solution-focused and pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
Negotiation skills, good network in Brazilian insurance market.
Nice to Have.
Good English and Spanish skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools, especially Excel and Power BI.
Confirmed ability to meet deliverables, implement plans, and conduct analysis.
Availability for eventual business trips Availability to work in a hybrid work model.
